Cry Zion and her cities Eli Tzion Ve'areha

       Cry Zion and her cities
like a woman in birth pangs
Like a virgin dressed in sack
for the husband of her youth,

For the palace that was forsaken
because of the guilt of her flocks.
and for the entry of those that mock what's right
                                      into her sacred chambers.
On the exile of those that serve what's Right
                                    Sweet singers of her songs.
And for their blood that was shed
                                         Like water of her rivers.
On the beat of her dancers
That has been silienced in her cities.
And on the council that has become desolate
And the dissolution of the Sanhedrin.
                                   On its constant celebrations
                                                  And its first fruits.
And on the profanation of its sacred articles
                                              And its incense altar.
On the babies of her kings
The sons of David her champion.
And on their beauty that became dark
                                      When they lost her crown.
On the glory the was exiled
With the destruction of her sanctuary.
                               And on the harsh persecution
And wearing the belt of sack.
On the crush and the many hits
                                             That struck her best.
And on the shattering against the stone
                                 Her babies and her children.
On the joy of her enemies
When they played with the rubble.
And on the affliction of her free men
                                                          Pure nobles.
                                             On the wanton crime
Wandering from the way she walked.
On the hosts of her congregations
                                              Swarthy and black.
On the voices of those that taunted her
                                When her corpses multiplied.
And on the feelings of those that reveled
                                        Inside the temple yard
On your name that was profaned
In the mouth of those that rose to vex her.
And on the prayer they prayed to You
Harken and listen to her words.

   Cry Zion and her cities
like a woman in birth pangs,
Like a virgin dressed in sack
for the husband of her youth,

Lament expansion of Yoel 1:8
Mourn like a virgin girded in sack
for the husband of her youth.
